I have worked as a birth and postpartum doula since 2008. I was trained by Doulas of North America and certified by Midwest Maternal Child Institute. Inspired by the writings and teachings of Ina May Gaskin, I began studying to become a homebirth midwife in 2009. I have attended home births and births at almost all major metropolitan hospitals, as well as some in the suburbs.
In 2010 and again in 2012 I gave birth to gorgeous, pink, screaming naked people who completely own my heart and inspire me every day. My experiences have been powerful, transformative events that have drawn me to empower families to have the best births possible, and become the best parents that they can be.
When I am not at a birth or teaching I am tending to my garden, or studying up on birth or various healing modalities. I am a vegetable-enthusiast, ecologically-minded, I enjoy making and appreciating art, and can often be found doing yoga, enjoying Lake Michigan with my kids, or organizing my pantry.
